A few weeks ago, the Director, Federal Ministry of Agriculture with his team in Benue State informed officials of the State Ministry of Agriculture that he had received directives from the Ministry’s headquarters Abuja to establish Ruga which means ‘Fulani settlement’ in parts of the State. The Director stated that the local government areas selected for the Ruga settlements were Otukpo, Tarka and Ukum. THE BENUE STATE GOVT SAY NO TO RUGA SETTLEMENT. The Benue State Government has rejected the proposed RUGA settlement for herdsmen by the Federal Government in the State. Magu said this yesterday while receiving delegation of the Interfaith Mediation Centre (IMC), Kaduna, Kaduna State, who paid a visit to the zonal office of the commission. Appeal Court gives Buhari 5 days to respond to alleged certificate forgery 25th June 2019 Godwin Tsa,  Abuja The  Abuja division of the Court of Appeal has ordered President Muhammadu Buhari to respond within five days to the appeal challenging his educational qualification for the 2019 presidential election. Also ordered to respond within the same time frame is his political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), which nominated him for the presidential poll, as well as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which accepted his nomination. The order was issued yesterday by Justice Datti Yayaya, who equally directed Buhari’s counsel, Abdullahi Abubakar, to file all necessary court papers with regard to the appeal filed against Buhari’s qualification by three appellants, namely Agu Kalu, Labaran Ismail and Hassy El-Kuris, within a period of five days. Nigerian billionaire and business mogul, Mr Tonye Patrick Cole, has narrated his ordeal while on flight which was an encounter he witnessed between a young Nigerian guy and the Nobel Laureate, Prof Wole Soyinka. According to Tonye, the young guy asked the Nobel Laureate to stand up on a seat originally allocated to him (the young man) in the flight. Other writers at the event also bagged various awards for their contributions to the literary world. Professor Linus Chia Saalu - Provost, College of Health Sciences 2. Dr. Mrs. Mfaga Modom - Registrar 3. Mr. Orinya Agbo Onazi - Bursar The appointments of the University Registrar and Bursar are with effect from 1st July, 2019 while that of the Provost is effective 1st August, 2019.
